In 2020, with funding from the Football Foundation, Richmond School were able to add a new floodlit 3G football pitch to expand their school sports facilities and increase playing opportunities for the local community. The full-size pitch at this North Yorkshire school was constructed by McArdle Sport Tec with artificial turf manufactured by TigerTurf.

The 3G pitch is used not only by the school and its students but also by the wider community and local sports teams.
Within two months of opening, the pitch is already at 95% capacity and turnover for Richmond Community Sport has risen more than 50%.
Richmondshire District Council Chairman, Clive World comments: “This is a great facility not just for Richmond but for the whole district.”
The school’s new pitch is now host of a local junior league with 20 teams and over 500 junior players playing football weekly at the facility.
Other football clubs are also able to use the floodlit facility for matches and training with local team Richmond Mavericks FC remarking that the Richmond School site is: “A superb new facility that is run very smoothly and efficiently.”
